How ScamCheck™ Works
ScamCheck helps you pause before replying to a message that feels confusing, suspicious, romantic very quickly, or too good to be true.
A scam is when someone tries to trick you into doing something unsafe — like sending money, sharing private information, clicking a bad link, or keeping secrets.
ScamCheck reads the message and gives you a simple result to help you decide what to do next.
Three ways to check a message
✍️ Type or paste it
Copy a text, DM, email, or message. Paste it into the box. Tap Check.
📷 Upload a screenshot
Take a screenshot of the message and upload it. ScamCheck will read it for you.
🎤 Say it out loud
Tap the mic and read the message out loud. ScamCheck will write it down.
What the colors mean
🟢 Green = Looks Okay
ScamCheck did not find obvious red flags. Still use good judgment, especially if someone asks for money, personal information, photos, or secrecy.
🟡 Yellow = Be Careful
Something may be off. Pause before replying. Ask a trusted person to look at the message with you.
🔴 Red = Danger
Do not click links. Do not reply. Do not send money, gift cards, passwords, photos, or personal information. Tell someone you trust right away.
Golden Rules
- Never share your password.
- Never send money or gift cards to someone you do not know well.
- Do not tap links from people you do not know.
- Be careful if someone asks you to keep secrets.
- Be careful if someone says it is an emergency and you must act fast.
- When you are not sure, pause and ask someone you trust.
Your Privacy
ScamCheck is designed to check messages without saving the full message or screenshot in our app database.
Please do not submit passwords, banking information, Social Security numbers, medical information, home addresses, or other very private information.
